Lynda Carter, the actress who played Wonder Woman in the 1970s TV series, has publicly opposed her sister’s political campaign in Arizona. In a recent statement, Lynda made it clear that she does not support her sister Pamela Carter’s run for the Arizona House of Representatives.
Pamela Carter, a far-right Republican, is running for a seat representing part of Maricopa County in Arizona’s Legislative District 4.
Despite Pamela’s claim on her website that she has her family’s full support, Lynda Carter told Mother Jones, “I have known Pam my entire life, which is why I sadly cannot endorse her for this or any public office.”
Pamela Carter’s political views include opposing same-sex marriage, limiting abortion access, and excluding transgender people from participating in sports. She also supports the idea of arming teachers in schools.
These views differ significantly from those of her sister, Lynda Carter, who has been an outspoken supporter of reproductive rights and other progressive causes.
Lynda, a native of Arizona, took her opposition a step further by endorsing the Democratic candidates running against her sister.
She expressed her support for Kelli Butler and Karen Gresham, two Democrats running for the same Arizona House seats in District 4. Lynda praised their experience, calling them “strong, experienced candidates, born and raised in Arizona.”
She emphasized that both women are working mothers fighting for important issues, especially children’s right to a quality education.
The Arizona House of Representatives has two representatives per district, and District 4 is currently split between one Democrat and one Republican.
Lynda Carter, who continues to be a public figure and advocate for progressive causes, also praised the late Senator John McCain. She admired his commitment to decency, justice, and freedom, qualities that she believes are important for Arizona’s future.

Pamela Carter did not immediately respond to requests for comments. Her campaign remains focused on conservative policies, but the lack of support from her famous sister has added a layer of complexity to the race.
