Jefferson City Man Arrested After Pointing Gun at Driver on Missouri Boulevard

A man from Jefferson City is facing serious charges after he allegedly pointed a gun at another driver on Missouri Boulevard. The incident took place on a Sunday morning, alarming both drivers and law enforcement.

According to the Jefferson City Police Department, the incident happened around 9:40 am in the 2400 block of Missouri Boulevard. A concerned driver called 911, reporting that another driver had pointed a firearm at them while they were driving.

The caller, who managed to stay calm during the ordeal, provided a detailed description of the suspect’s vehicle and continued to follow it while sharing updates with the emergency operators.

A Missouri State Trooper, who was patrolling nearby, received the alert and quickly responded to the situation. The trooper spotted the suspect’s vehicle near the intersection of Highway 54 and Highway 179. The police were able to stop the vehicle and take the suspect into custody without any further incident.

Upon searching the suspect’s vehicle, officers discovered two firearms. The man was immediately arrested and transported to the Cole County Jail.

He now faces several charges, including Second Degree Assault, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Armed Criminal Action. As of now, prosecutors have not formally filed the charges, but the investigation is ongoing.

This case highlights the importance of remaining calm and reporting dangerous situations to authorities.
