CNS NewsIn a gruesome and heart-wrenching turn of events captured on surveillance footage, the murder of a Brooklyn laundromat owner has been revealed to be the result of a shocking conspiracy engineered by none other than his cousin.

The victim, Money Perkins, a 37-year-old entrepreneur, fell victim to a vicious attack inside his establishment in East Flatbush on December 1. Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez disclosed the chilling details during a press conference on Tuesday, announcing the indictment of five individuals from Far Rockaway on a litany of charges including murder, conspiracy, and robbery, in connection with Perkins’ untimely demise.

The principal perpetrator, identified as Ronnie Butler, aged 46, reportedly hatched the nefarious plan to rob Perkins of a prized possession – a $30,000 gold necklace. Armed with handguns and cloaked in heavy coats, Butler and four accomplices descended upon Perkins in his laundromat.

The festering animosity between Perkins and Butler, stemming from disputes since the establishment’s inception in 2022, provided the backdrop for the heinous crime. Allegedly, Butler conspired with Louis Mercado, aged 48, who enlisted his 16-year-old stepson, Zecharyah Slay, along with Shaleek Riddick, aged 19, and Diante Stinson, aged 20, to execute the nefarious plot, promising financial rewards in exchange for their participation.

The horrifying episode was captured on video, showcasing Perkins’ valiant struggle against one of the assailants, identified as his cousin. Despite Perkins’ efforts, Butler savagely attacked him, ultimately wresting away the coveted necklace, which he callously disposed of later. Prosecutors revealed that Perkins endured a barrage of gunfire, sustaining a total of 13 gunshot wounds to his head, torso, and leg during the frenzied assault.

In the wake of the indictment, Butler, Riddick, and Stinson have been arraigned, with the full weight of justice bearing down upon them. Each defendant faces a slew of charges, ranging from first-degree murder to conspiracy, and remains remanded in custody pending further legal proceedings.
