Germany and Belgium’s early exit from the FIFA World Cup had a major negative impact on their soccer team jerseys

The jersey prices of Germany and Belgium are down sharply in Qatar following their poor performance at the 2022 World Cup.

The World Cup is a competition not just between the 32 competing countries, but also among all the sponsors. For some favourite teams, who remain in Qatar, their partnership has sold out; for others, who pack up and head home early, those sponsorship deals are unsalable.

The 3 jerseys in Doha that are most important for sale belong to those teams who made it to the quarterfinals. However, those who didn’t make it are being sold at discounted prices.

Four-star Germany was a popular World Cup team, and their authentic World Cup jerseys were in high demand. After being eliminated from group play, the price of their jersey plummeted from 670 Qatari riyal to about 94 U.S. dollars, while other teams’ jerseys also dropped in price by different degrees.

After purchasing a discount basket of merchandise, one customer told Xinhua that he’s not an especially enthusiastic fan for these teams. He just thought the price was nice for a jersey collection.
