On February 2, 2025, 55-year-old Robert D. Burgess unexpectedly departed away. The late Larry and Marie (Schneider) Burgess were the parents of Robert, who was born in London, England, in the United Kingdom. He was Marta (Torres) Burgess’s devoted husband of thirteen years. cherished father of Natalie, Joseph, Isabella, and Robert. A loving grandfather to Brandon and Ellias as well. His cherished cousins Catherine, Della, Bernard, Neterkhuray, Jane, and Nile, as well as his loving Uncle Cliff, survived him.
After graduating from Willingboro High School (Class of 87), Robert served in the U.S. Navy to honor his nation. Later on, he joined the Willingboro Police Department as a police officer. He joined the undergraduate chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. while he was a student at Norfolk State University in Virginia.
Robert’s visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, February 18, 2025, from 11:15 am to 12 pm at the McCann Healey Funeral Home, located at 851 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City. Family, friends, and the Willingboro Police Department are encouraged to attend.
The funeral home will host a Celebration of Life on February 18, 2025, from 12 to 1:00 p.m.
In the chapel of the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, New Jersey, the interment with U.S. Navy Military Honors will take place at 2:30 pm.
Due to cemetery rules, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Willingboro Police Department (complete address will be posted Thursday) in lieu of flowers. Kindly include Robert D. Burgess in the memo.
