On January 30, 2025, Reinaldo Alfonso Acosta Ivagon, a cherished husband, father, uncle, and grandfather, died in Voorhees, New Jersey. Everyone knew him as Alfonso, who was born on August 12, 1932, in Ibague, Colombia.He taught himself to read and write after becoming an orphan at the age of nine, with no relatives other than a sister he would meet a few years later. He then married the love of his life, Maria Ligia Acosta, and on January 2, 2025, they celebrated 70 years of marriage.He was a diligent man who taught himself a variety of talents before specializing in body shop work, which he was quite good at. Over the years, he owned multiple body shop businesses. After retiring, he lived in Florida and Colombia before moving back to New Jersey to be nearer to his family.Carlos Alberto (Nilsa Eneida) Acosta, Juan David Acosta & (Jerry Macdonald), Carmen Elena Acosta, and his cherished wife Maria Ligia Acosta are among the survivors. In addition, he has ten great-grandchildren, a large number of nieces, nephews, and great-nephews, and eleven grandchildren: Alfonso Yehudah Acosta, Carlos David Acosta, Nilsa Debra Acosta, Isaias Yovel Acosta, Ligia Rinatya Acosta, Adrian Mark Ramos, Felicia Gaffney, Brianna Elise Lombardo, Hefziba D. Ambrossio, Ishbara Dutko, and Alabayith MacMillan.The First Spanish Baptist Church of Pennsauken, located at 6629 Chandler Avenue, Pennsuaken, NJ 08110, will host a memorial ceremony on Saturday, March 15th, at 1:00 PM.
