A seasoned news host and editor is leaving WITF after more than 20 years on the air.

In a video posted to the WITF Facebook page, Tim Lambert, host of the Morning Edition, announces on the radio show that he will be leaving the public media outlet.

We appreciate your participation in today’s WITF Morning Edition. My name is Tim Lambert. I must have used that sentence, or some variation of it, thousands of times over the course of over 19 years.

“I’ll use that same phrase for the last time at WITF in two weeks,” Lambert added. For me, what occurs next is a story for another day. Now, I would like to express my gratitude to you. I appreciate you putting your trust in me to be there for you every single day, regardless of how long you’ve been listening or how new you are.

In the statement, Lambert stated that his time at WITF was never a job but rather a privilege, and that February 14 would be his last day there.

In addition, Lambert hosts the podcast The Morning Agenda and is the editor of special projects for WITF.

For excellence in news reporting, he has won the National Edward R. Murrow Award seven times. He has lived in New Cumberland since 2009 and has always been from Pennsylvania.

According to a statement on the WITF Facebook page, Tim Lambert is beginning a new phase in his career after 23 years with the organization and almost 19 years as your morning host for Morning Edition. We express our gratitude to him for his years of commitment to the WITF newsroom and on-air.
