The wives of Cleveland Browns players were not welcomed by Pittsburgh Steelers fans on Sunday. Carly, the spouse of Browns guard Wyatt Teller, used social media to criticize the obviously rude treatment they endured at Acrisure Stadium.
I and the Browns gals were treated with such obvious contempt by the Pittsburgh supporters today. Never in my life have I been so insulted by someone I done nothing wrong. Very depressing and shameful actions.
“Today’s Pittsburgh supporters treated me and the Browns females with such obvious disdain. Never in my life have I been so insulted by someone I done nothing wrong. She commented on X, “Very sad/embarrassing behavior.”
Steelers supporters yelled “Cleveland sucks” at the Browns during the game, particularly in the closing minutes. Several Browns players, including Myles Garrett, were offended by that and vowed to use it as motivation for the game the following year.
On her Instagram story, Carly went into further detail about the experiences, saying that during the game, spectators were yelling at her and other wives in the crowd in addition to the players.
Tension brewing is not surprising in a divisional rivalry, especially one that has been played for as long as Steelers-Browns, as the two teams continue to taunt each other during the entire week before the game.
