The 2025 Pennsylvania Farm Show countdown has begun.
The Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center in Harrisburg will host the biggest indoor agricultural spectacular in the state from January 4–11. On January 3, the food court opens one day early at noon, and parking is free.
“Powering Pennsylvania” is the theme.
As before, guests may anticipate classic displays like tractors, square dancing, a chocolate cake competition, and animal judging. Naturally, the Farm Show introduces new features each year, and the 2025 show is no exception.
Here is an example of what to anticipate:
As part of the Friends of Farm Show Foundation’s Celebrating Women Powering Agriculture event, Dr. Temple Grandin will give a speech in the Small Arena on January 9 at 9 a.m. Grandin is an author, professor, and supporter of autism. Her remarks kick off a half-day of discussions, hands-on demonstrations, and networking events honoring some of the strong female leaders in Pennsylvania agriculture.
Goat cuddling has been increasingly popular in recent years, therefore Swartz Farm in Mohnton will bring miniature highland cows for photos and petting.
Visitors can search for new judging categories such as home vegetable canning, garden tractors, fall harvest-themed quilt crafts, dry and sweet fruit ciders, Oberholsi dairy goats, and cow/calf mama-baby teams.
In the first-ever Turkey Showmanship, young people will showcase their skills in raising their birds.
On January 9 in the Equine Arena, PPL will present a live line electrical safety demonstration. Visitors can get information on how to keep their farms safe from mishaps near power lines and other electrical and power-producing machinery.
On January 5, between 1 and 3 p.m., Chef Jet Tila will be the main attraction on the PA Preferred Culinary Connection stage. Tila, a Philadelphia native and cookbook author, has made appearances on Iron Chef, Food Network, and the Today Show.
