At 9:32 p.m. on Thursday, the National Weather Service published a forecast predicting snow showers in Mercer, Lawrence, Butler, and Beaver counties through 10 p.m.

The weather service reports that snow showers were recorded by Doppler radar around 9:32 p.m.

The alert affects the following locations: Grove City, Columbiana, Monaca, East Palestine, Wellsville, Carrollton, Economy, Ellwood City, New Brighton, Beaver, Calcutta, Baden, Zelienople, New Castle, New Philadelphia, Dover, Salem, East Liverpool, Aliquippa, Beaver Falls, and Grove City. During these snow showers, visibility will rapidly decrease to less than a quarter of a mile.

Additionally, the weather service advises, “Keep a close eye on the weather situation and be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions.”
