According to someone with knowledge of the agreement, the Washington Wizards have agreed to trade center Jonas Valanciunas to the Sacramento Kings in exchange for Sidy Cissoko and two second-round draft picks.

Since the trade had not been made public, the individual spoke on condition of anonymity Wednesday evening.

In the three-team trade that sent Zach LaVine from Chicago to Sacramento and De Aaron Fox to the Spurs, the Kings just acquired the 6-foot-6 Cissoko from San Antonio. He will now play for a youthful, rebuilding Washington club that has the NBA’s poorest record.

Despite playing a career-low 20.1 minutes per game this season, 32-year-old Valanciunas is averaging 11.5 points and 8.2 rebounds.

According to someone with knowledge of the deal, Washington had a busy day. They also traded Patrick Baldwin and Kyle Kuzma to Milwaukee for Khris Middleton and A.J. Johnson.

In fact, going into Wednesday night’s game at Brooklyn, Washington (8-41) had already won two straight. The Wizards now have two players under 22 thanks to Cissoko and Johnson, both of whom are 20. They also have Bub Carrington (19), Bilal Coulibaly (20), Alex Sarr (19), Kyshawn George (21) and Tristan Vukcevic (21).

The Spurs selected Cissoko in the second round of the 2023 NBA Draft. This season, he has made 17 appearances, averaging 3.2 minutes.
