At 9:13 p.m. on Tuesday, the National Weather Service issued an updated weather notice for Westmoreland Ridges and Fayette Ridges, as well as Washington, Greene, Westmoreland, and Fayette counties, indicating snow showers until 10:15 p.m.
“At 9:13 p.m., Doppler radar tracked snow showers along a line from 15 miles southeast of Ligonier to near Waynesburg, or along a line from 24 miles southeast of Latrobe to near Waynesburg, moving southeast at 30 mph,” according to the meteorological service.
Among the places affected by the alert are Donora, Mount Pleasant, Scottdale, Monongahela, Charleroi, Masontown, Youngwood, West Newton, Bentleyville, Brownsville, Morgantown, Uniontown, Connellsville, Waynesburg, Westover, Kingwood, Star City, Terra Alta, and Monessen, California.
The weather service states that “in winter weather conditions, conditions can deteriorate rapidly.” Be ready for roads covered with ice or snow. When traveling, slow down and give yourself more time.
