At 8:34 a.m. on Wednesday, the National Weather Service released an updated forecast for Allegheny, Washington, and Westmoreland counties that called for snow showers through 9 a.m.

“At 8:34 a.m., Doppler radar tracked snow showers over Bethel Park, moving southeast at 25 mph,” the weather agency declared.

The alert affects the following locations: Upper St. Clair, Scott Township, Whitehall, South Park Township, Munhall, Jefferson Hills, Brentwood, Dormont, Castle Shannon, Pleasant Hills, Carnegie, White Oak, Pittsburgh, Mount Lebanon, Bethel Park, McMurray, McKeesport, Gastonville, West Mifflin, Baldwin, and Upper St. Clair. The following highways are included in this: Pennsylvania’s Interstate 70 between miles 46 and 49. Midway between mile marks 68 and 71 is the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

“Keep a close eye on the weather situation and be on the lookout for potentially dangerous weather conditions,” advises the weather service. In cold weather conditions, things might quickly get worse. Be ready for roads covered with ice or snow. When traveling, slow down and give yourself more time.

United Robots offers a service called Advance Local Weather Alerts that gathers the most recent information from the National Weather Service using machine learning.
