At 6:26 a.m. on Tuesday, the National Weather Service issued an updated weather notice for Mercer, Venango, Forest, Lawrence, Butler, Clarion, Jefferson, and Armstrong counties, predicting snow showers through 7:30 a.m.
“At 6:26 a.m., Doppler radar tracked snow showers along a line from 5 miles northwest of Grove City to 9 miles southeast of Marienville, moving southeast at 20 mph,” according to the National Weather Service.
Grove City, Franklin, Clarion, Brookville, Marienville, Knox, Rimersburg, Greenville, Sugarcreek, Slippery Rock, Reynoldsville, Brockway, New Bethlehem, Tionesta, Mercer, Hasson Heights, Stoneboro, Falls Creek, Seneca, and Oil City are among the places affected by the alert.
“Keep a close eye on the weather situation and be on the lookout for potentially dangerous weather conditions,” advises the weather service. During these snow showers, visibility will rapidly decrease to less than half a mile. Snow can be applied quickly, up to an inch deep. Roads can quickly get covered in snow.
