At 10:23 a.m. on Saturday, the National Weather Service issued an updated weather notice for snow through 6 p.m. in Mercer, Lawrence, Butler, Beaver, Allegheny, Washington, Westmoreland, and Fayette counties, as well as Westmoreland Ridges and Fayette Ridges.

“Throughout the afternoon, northwesterly winds will cause many winding lake-enhanced snow bands to stretch into western Pennsylvania and between eastern Ohio counties. One to two inches of snow might accumulate quickly, and there could be isolated areas with three or more inches of snow. The weather service reports that visibility within the band may occasionally be momentarily lowered to a quarter of a mile or less.

United Robots offers a service called Advance Local Weather Alerts that gathers the most recent information from the National Weather Service using machine learning.
