At 3:14 p.m. on Saturday, the National Weather Service issued an updated weather notice for snow showers until 4:15 p.m. in the counties of Clearfield, Cambria, Blair, Huntingdon, Union, Snyder, and Northern Clinton, Northern Center, and Southern Clinton.

“At 3:10 p.m., an area of snow showers was along a line extending from Lock Haven to 16 miles east of Clearfield to 16 miles southeast of Punxsutawney and moving southeast at 25 MPH,” according to the weather service.

The alert affects the following locations: Northern Cambria, Boalsburg, Pleasant Gap, Philipsburg, Woodland, Curwensville, Lamar, Stormstown, Lemont, Bald Eagle, Zion, Bellwood, Houserville, State College, Lock Haven, Clearfield, Bellefonte, Tyrone, Park Forest Village, Woodward, and Northern Cambria. Areas between the Penfield and Loganton exits are included for drivers traveling on Interstate 80, especially from mile markers 116 to 180. Similarly, Interstate 99 is included from mile markers 42 to 85.

“If you have to travel into or through this area of heavy snow, exercise extra caution,” the weather agency advises. Accidents may result from abrupt changes in visibility and perhaps slick roads.
