At 5:57 a.m. on Friday, the National Weather Service issued an updated forecast for freezing rain through 8 a.m. in Potter, Cameron, Clearfield, Union, Snyder, Montour, and Northumberland counties, as well as Northern Clinton, Northern Center, Southern Center, Southern Clinton, and Southern Lycoming.
“Temperatures in valley sites are still in the lower 30s, even though air temperatures have warmed into the 40s over the higher terrain. Early this morning, we do anticipate temps over freezing. However, it’s possible that in the coldest areas, a thin layer of ice could form. If you want to travel this morning, be cautious of slick areas, particularly on walkways and bridges, the weather service advises.
