At 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, the National Weather Service issued an updated weather notice for Northern Erie, Southern Erie, and Crawford County, stating that lake effect snow would be present until 5:15 p.m.

“At 4:13 p.m., radar indicated an intense lake effect snow band along a line extending from 11 miles southeast of Fredonia to near Perry to near Port Clinton, moving south at 20 mph,” according to the meteorological service.

Cleveland, Lorain, Elyria, Sandusky, Painesville, Ashtabula, Norwalk, Willowick, Conneaut, Western Vermilion, Chardon, Fairport Harbor, Geneva-On-The-Lake, Parma, Lakewood, Euclid, Mentor, and Cleveland Heights are among the places affected by the alert. If you have to go through or into this lake effect snow belt, proceed with additional caution. Accidents are likely to occur due to slick roads and abrupt changes in visibility. Think about postponing your trip until this snow band passes by.

United Robots offers a service called Advance Local Weather Alerts that gathers the most recent information from the National Weather Service using machine learning.
