According to officials, a tractor-trailer carrying corn syrup crashed Monday, closing an intersection in York County.

Ted Czech, spokesman for the York County Office of Emergency Management, said the collision and corn syrup leak had closed Willow Spring Lane at Canal Road in East Manchester Township, close to the Interstate 83 overpass.

According to Czech, the York County Hazmat Team and other fire agencies have responded. He claimed that neither locals nor wildlife are in any risk as a result of the leak.

Czech advises drivers to stay away from the area while it is being cleaned up. The crossroads would remain closed for the foreseeable future, he said.
