Third-placed San Francisco, California; second-place New York, New York; and first-place Honolulu, Hawaii, were the top three cities for leading active lifestyles.

According to Chip Lupo, a WalletHub analyst, the best cities for remaining active have options for all kinds of people, from those who like team sports to those who just want to walk or bike to work to get their daily activity. Additionally, they are typically big cities that are yet adjacent to stunning natural regions for swimming and hiking.

Lastly, people who live in the best cities for an active lifestyle tend to be very engaged in exercising, which makes it easier to locate workout partners and maintain motivation.

North Las Vegas, Nevada, was the city at the bottom of the list.
