According to head coach Mike Tomlin, T.J. Watt, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ outside linebacker, is doubtful to play against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. After his injury, Watt was moving around quite well on Monday, but the Steelers will want to watch him closely this week. Although his participation will serve as their guidance, he is officially eligible to play and has not been disqualified.
Watt stated that the X-rays came back negative and that the rest of the week will be a wait-and-see situation. Tomlin did state that players should not play until they are completely healthy.
They would secure a home game in the wild-card round and finish in the top four of the AFC with a victory next week.
Nick Herbig will start opposite Alex Highsmith if Watt is unable to play. In this case, the Steelers traded for Preston Smith, who might help buoy that room without Watt. If Watt is gone, the Steelers’ depth will be tested.
