The FedEx Air and Ground Player of the Week award goes to Russell Wilson, a quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Wilson received the award alongside Josh Allen, the quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, and became the first Steelers player to do so since Ben Roethlisberger in Week 10 of 2020.
Wilson, who is 36 years old, is the oldest player to receive the honor this season. On Sunday, he threw for 414 yards and three touchdowns, shattering the Cincinnati Bengals defense. Throughout his career, Wilson has thrown the second-most passing yards.
FedEx will give $2000 to a Historically Black College or University of Wilson of their choosing as the prize winner. Students at these HBCUs may use it for needs-based scholarships.
Since joining the Steelers, Wilson has destroyed teams. He has accumulated 1626 passing yards and a 100.1 passer rating while throwing for 10 touchdowns and only three interceptions. On Sunday, he will try to build on that performance against the Cleveland Browns.
