Pittsburgh –Following the team’s game against the Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers safety DeShon Elliott complained of hamstring pain. According to head coach Mike Tomlin, Elliott will be sidelined for the first part of the week.
Elliott’s light is on, according to Tomlin, and the organization is hopeful he will play against the Philadelphia Eagles. The strain is not severe enough that Elliott should be able to suit up, and he did not leave the game at all. The Steelers will start Damontae Kazee next to Minkah Fitzpatrick if he is unable to play.
Early in the week, both players—along with defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi—will be watched and restricted. Miles Killebrew is a special team player, and the Steelers only have four safeties on the roster. In the case that Elliott is unable to participate, players on the practice squad including D Shawn Jamison, Eric Rowe, and Ayo Oyelola might assist the club.
Elliott recorded a season-high nine solo tackles among his 13 total tackles against the Browns.
