NEW YORK (AP) It’s that time of year again: Spotify has released its yearly Wrapped, which are audio summaries of users’ listening preferences for the year.
Since 2016, Spotify has provided its users with data breakdowns. Additionally, it has grown in size and popularity online every year. In terms of audience reach and the type of data it offered, Spotify claimed that its 2023 Wrapped was the largest ever produced.
What’s in store for 2024? Here are some things to be aware of.
What exactly is Spotify Wrapped?
It is an annual summary of global and personal listening patterns provided by the streaming service. Through a single interactive presentation, users may discover their favorite musicians, songs, genres, albums, and podcasts.
People share and compare their Wrapped data with their friends and followers on social media, making the campaign a social media sensation.
In addition to offering users a personalized playlist of the artist’s top 100 songs from that year to store, share, and listen to anytime they’re feeling sentimental, Wrapped also gives users access to a variety of breakdowns and information, such as if they’re among the artist’s top listeners.
Spotify also curates a number of playlists with the most streamed artists and songs, reflecting both national and international listening trends. Bad Bunny, who had been the most streamed artist on Spotify for three consecutive years, was surpassed by Taylor Swift in 2023. This year, she maintained her title, with Billie Eilish, Drake, The Weeknd, and Bad Bunny following.
Where can I find my Spotify Wrapped?
To get the full Wrapped experience, make sure your Spotify app is up to current. Both users with and without Premium subscriptions can access Wrapped.
Spotify will ask consumers to examine their interactive data roundup on their desktop or mobile app starting on Wednesday. A QR code that directs you to your data presentation may also be found at Spotify.com/Wrapped.
What else can I learn with my Spotify data?
You can link your Spotify account to a few third-party websites that will examine your Wrapped data.

In subsequent years, several well-known streaming services like YouTube Music and Apple Music have created their own versions of Wrapped.
Apple Music’s Replay function helps set itself apart from Spotify’s one-time summary by providing members with monthly recaps in addition to a year-end breakdown of their listening habits. It was released on Dec. 3.
In contrast, YouTube Music offers its subscribers a similar year-end release in addition to sporadic seasonal releases all year long. Last month, it made its yearly Recap available to users.
