On the same block in Harrisburg where a 57-year-old lady was killed days earlier, a 24-year-old male was shot during a robbery on Tuesday night, according to police.

The male was shot on the 300 block of Hummel Street at approximately 7:30 p.m., according to Harrisburg police, and was sent to a hospital with a non-life-threatening wound. According to police, they don’t think the shooting had anything to do with the one that murdered 57-year-old Candy J. Gibson on Saturday.

Gibson was shot dead in the chest at approximately 11:19 p.m. when she was inside her house, which was located next to Swatara Street on the 300 block of Hummel Street. According to the police, Gibson was slain by a shooter who fired from the street. It was not thought that she was the intended victim.

Around 12:15 a.m. on Monday, 19-year-old Cordae Cory Swan was shot and murdered at 18th and Carnation Street, less than 48 hours later.

According to the police, they are looking into any possible connections between the killings on Hummel and 18th and Carnation.

Neither the murders nor the gunfire on Tuesday have resulted in any arrests. Anyone with information can use CrimeWatch to report it or give Harrisburg police a call at 717-558-6900.
