In some areas of Pennsylvania, low temperatures remained in the single digits until Saturday morning. Forecasters now say that by Sunday, there will be some snow and freezing rain in some areas of the state.
But in Harrisburg and the neighboring areas, less than an inch of snow is predicted to fall.
The National Weather Service issued snow storm watches for Somerset and Cambria counties from Sunday morning to Monday morning. According to the NWS, Clearfield, Elk, and Cameron counties are also under winter weather advisories from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Before warmer weather arrives on Monday, when rain is expected across the state, areas north of the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76) may receive a few to several inches of snow.
For the Laurel Highlands, winter storm watches have been issued for Sunday and Sunday night due to the possibility of 0.25 inches or more of freezing rain or ice. Sunday eveningRain, snow, and possibly freezing rain before 1 a.m., followed by rain and snow from 1 to 4 a.m., and finally rain after 4 a.m. There will be southeast winds of 3 to 6 mph and a low of about 34 degrees.
