In a few days, Saquon Barkley will compete for a Super Bowl ring. However, Barkley made a significant personal announcement prior to the Eagles and Chiefs game.
In an interview published on Sunday morning, the former Penn State star revealed to PEOPLE that Barkley is engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Anna Congdon.
Without her support, I couldn’t be the athlete I am and achieve the achievements I have in my career, Barkley told PEOPLE. She has been incredibly supportive and helpful, not only in football but in many aspects of life. However, as we continue to develop, age, and experience life together, we get closer and better.
When Barkley was a standout player for the Nittany Lions in 2017, he met Congdon at Penn State, and the two have been dating ever since. Their son Saquon Jr. was born in September 2022, and their daughter Jada was born in April 2018.
Our six-year-old, who will soon be seven, already understands everything, and our son, who is only a male, is completely enamored with toys, trucks, and automobiles. He enjoys playing football and fighting. Thus, we treasure every one of those occasions, Barkley added. It would be naïve of me to believe that I’ve succeeded and that I’m responsible for everything we’ve managed to do this year.
On Super Bowl Sunday, Barkley will go for another ring. Kickoff for the Eagles vs. Chiefs game is set at 6:30 p.m. FOX will broadcast the game.
