Rock icon Sammy Hagar claimed that after a month, he and his partner Guy Fieri had some clues regarding the $1 million worth of stolen tequila.
Santo Tequila partners Hagar and Fieri experienced the loss of two trucks last month, one of which was headed for Pennsylvania. According to reports, those trucks were transporting 24,240 bottles, or 440 cases, of the alcohol.
In a recent interview, Hagar gave Fox the new information.
Hagar informed Fox that it was a theft. It was heavily coded.
He went on to say that there was some sort of organization. We’re trying to figure out who it was, but I can’t get into too much detail. It was meticulously organized, and the truck drivers were engaged to pick up the items; they had no prior experience. They simply sent them to drop it off with phony GPS units and smartphones.
Hagar informed Fox that they had located one truck.
So, he added, we’re making progress. However, since the second one is said to have been distributed throughout the system, we will never find it.
Fieri previously told PEOPLE that the company had suffered a severe blow as a result of the lost trucks.
We’ve put forth a lot of effort,” Fieri told People. We’ve never had a better year in Santo. People will now only get whatever is on the shelf because WE have all the momentum.
A specially-made extra ejo, which takes 39 months to manufacture, was one of the stolen tequilas.
