Pittsburgh –Cory Trice Jr., a cornerback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, is starting against the Cincinnati Bengals for the first time in his career. Trice’s play has been inconsistent, but he has surpassed James Pierre as the team’s best backup cornerback. He did well against the Kansas City Chiefs, but it’s difficult to play against Tee Higgins and Ja Marr Chase.
To get ready for this occasion, Trice has practiced against players like George Pickens. Trice was sidelined for three games before receiving a helmet because of Donte Jackson’s persistent back problem, and also missed a significant portion of the season due to a hamstring injury.
Jackson will have to miss another game, this one against the Bengals, due to that back ailment. Trice is taking over, but he hasn’t been able to keep Chase under control thus far. In this game, Chase previously made another holding call after beating him to the inside for a touchdown.
In the 2023 NFL Draft, Trice was selected in the seventh round by the Steelers from Purdue. Despite missing the entire season due to an ACL tear sustained during training camp last season, he showed promise this summer.
