The scouting directors stated, “I still believe this could go either way.” They remind me of Russell Wilson, in a way. In any case, I anticipate that they will select a quarterback in the high draft. They are looking for a long-term solution.
The more time that passes, the more like it is that Justin Fields will return to the Steelers. Although there aren’t many excellent quarterbacks available in this draft, the Steelers might select a player in the middle rounds. The team will still require a backup quarterback if Fields returns, and the Steelers may decide to select a young quarterback later in the draft class.
