MOBILE, ALThe Pittsburgh Steelers have expressed interest in R.J. Harvey, a running back from UCF. At the Senior Bowl, Harvey met with all 32 teams, but his encounter with Pittsburgh was particularly noteworthy. Harvey’s discussions with Steelers general manager Omar Khan, head coach Mike Tomlin, and others revealed that the speedster is expected to be among the best choices for clubs seeking speed at the position.
It is easy to understand why Harvey, who is only 5′ 7″, weighs more than 200 pounds. His explosiveness is a result of his enormous legs for his size. The Steelers, who employ a zone running style that could make use of that kind of running back, might be interested in Harvey’s home run speed.
Harvey is the kind of speedy player the Steelers are looking for in the process. He might compliment Jaylen Warren as the speed back and would probably be selected early on day three. As a receiver and pass protector, Warren could manage a large portion of the duty in the interim.
