The Pittsburgh Steelers are the front-runners to sign Cooper Kupp, the outstanding wide receiver for the Rams. The Steelers are the top team to acquire Kupp, according to odds given by DraftKings and Bovada just one day after Kupp declared the Rams had told him they would trade him.
During the trade deadline, Pittsburgh expressed interest in Kupp and called the Rams, but the contract math has since changed. Even so, Kupp has deteriorated recently and only plays in the slot, so the Rams would probably have to forgo his bonuses in both years.
The team may be able to acquire Kupp for the trade price with just one day two or day three pick. With a star wide receiver teamed with George Pickens, that would free them up to concentrate on other positions, but Kupp’s issues still exist.
Kupp is an excellent blocker but primarily plays in the slot. However, Kupp has had injuries throughout his career, which is becoming a major problem as he begins to slow down as he ages. The Steelers should still be involved since they have the space to accept Kupp’s contract.
