George Pickens, a wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers, was penalized for snatching Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Cam Taylor-Brittin’s facemask during the fourth quarter of the team’s 19-17 defeat last Saturday. Pickens was hit with $22,511 in his wallet, the largest fine he has received this year, so it’s a big one.

On the team, Pickens has received the most fines overall. He has been hit with fines totaling almost $100,000, which now adds up to an even ten this year.

The Steelers are led by those two figures this season. The facemask was specifically involved in three of those cases, which were for needless roughness. Two more were for unsportsmanlike behavior, and three more were for taunting.

The amount of Pickens’ private fine is unknown, although he was fined $200,000 by the NFL and the Steelers last season. But as the Steelers meet the Baltimore Ravens in another stressful game as they head into the playoffs, Pickens’ public fines rise.
