Pittsburgh –Cam Heyward, the top defensive tackle for the Pittsburgh Steelers, sustained an injury during the Kansas City Chiefs game. After Travis Kelce scored a touchdown pass to Patrick Mahomes, Heyward was hurt. Trainers looked at his right leg when he clutched it and went down to a knee.
Heyward would be seated on the sidelines during the examination after leaving the field with caution. Later, he rejoined the game, although he seemed to move cautiously and wasn’t really useful.
The Steelers looked to Isaiahh Loudermilk when Heyward was benched. Preston Smith, another depth addition up front, was also left out, as did backup defensive lineman Dean Lowry.
The squad is sparse up front as a result, but they have at least ten days before they play the Cincinnati Bengals at home. The Phillies will need Heyward to win a game in the playoffs, but it’s still very unclear if he will be able to play.
