Following the conclusion of the Rams’ season, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced on Tuesday that they had signed former Los Angeles Rams cornerback Cameron McCutcheon to a future deal.
McCutcheon is the most recent player to sign a contract with the Steelers this offseason, increasing the total to 19 players the team has brought back. At six feet one inch and 200 pounds, he is a taller cornerback who meets the Steelers’ cornerback requirements.
For the majority of his two seasons with the Rams, McCutcheon was a member of the practice squad. Despite playing more than 200 snaps in two preseasons, McCutcheon has not yet appeared in a regular season game.
He transferred to Western Carolina after beginning his college career at Gardner-Webb in 2018. With ten passes defended throughout his tenure with the Catamounts, McCutcheon developed into an outside playmaker.
Despite not being selected in the 2023 NFL Draft, he had enough time with the Rams to demonstrate his worth, and he played intermittently for the team over the following two seasons.
