Evan Hull, a former running back for the Indianapolis Colts, has joined the Pittsburgh Steelers, the organization announced. As one of three running backs currently under contract for the 2025 campaign, Huil joins the Steelers. Additionally, Aaron Shampklin signed a new reserve/future deal.
In the 2023 NFL Draft, Hull was selected by the Colts in the fifth round from Northwestern. The 5-foot-10, 210-pound running back has only made one rush attempt for a yard in his career, but he showed above-average athleticism.
Hull recorded a 37-inch vertical leap and a 40-yard sprint time of 4.47. After the season, the Colts did not re-sign him, and he now plays for the Steelers.
Hull gained 891 receiving yards and nearly 2000 running yards at Northwestern. The Steelers will probably cut ties with Cordarrelle Patterson and Najee Harris, giving him the opportunity to contend for a bottom-of-the-roster slot.
Thus, Hull will get the opportunity to demonstrate that he is a good fit in the backfield alongside Jaylen Warren and other players. There are 17 reserve/future signings, including him.
