Pittsburgh –With just three players out by injury, the Pittsburgh Steelers will be missing five players versus the Kansas City Chiefs. After two sparse workouts, quarterback Justin Fields is out and will be the backup third quarterback. He is preparing to make a comeback as a backup against the Cincinnati Bengals the following week.

For the first time since the Steelers acquired him from Green Bay, outside linebacker Preston Smith is healthy and inactive. He will not be playing; Jeremiah Moon will be the fourth outside linebacker. Moon will play because he is a special teams player.

A week after starting against the Baltimore Ravens, Dean Lowry is not playing. He had a rough game, and now that Larry Ogunjobi is back, the Steelers’ defensive line is healthier.

Due to injuries sustained against the Ravens, wide receiver Ben Skowronek (hip) and cornerback Joey Porter Jr. (knee) remain sidelined.

Chris Jones, the Chiefs’ premier pass rusher, is taking a brief break after spraining his calf against the Houston Texans.
