The Pittsburgh Steelers are in need of a running back, but four years after they selected Najee Harris, might the answer be found in the first round once more? The Steelers need a running back because Harris is probably going to be a free agency this offseason and move on to other places.
The 33rd Football Team’s Kyle Crabbs thinks the Steelers could go to a buzzworthy name if they want the maximum juice out of the position. Crabbs had Ashton Jeanty, a running back, selected by the Steelers in his most recent mock draft.
“When positional value is taken out of the equation, Jeanty is without a doubt among the top players available for the 2025 NFL Draft. Because of his exceptional ability to generate yards after contact and hit home run carries through traffic, this extremely productive running back adds a great deal of value to his touches,” Crabbs noted.
Jeanty recently concluded one of the greatest running back seasons in college football history. He assisted in leading the Broncos to a College Football Playoff berth and finished second all-time in rushing yards in a season that was only eclipsed by Barry Sanders.
The Steelers may try to acquire Jeanty if the value is there at a lower need, even though they have other needs like defensive line, wide receiver, and cornerback.
