The Pittsburgh Steelers need to add more players to their roster. With the arrival of guys like Zach Frazier in the NFL Draft, that has begun to happen in part, but the organization is also beginning to shift toward using free agency as a major component of roster construction.
In response to a question about free agency, Rooney said that the Steelers might make a big splash in order to strengthen one of their main areas of need.
“You know, I think we have to always look at opportunities, and we have to do that if we can add someone who will make a difference for us,” Rooney stated. Though you have to have the appropriate guy show up at the proper time and location, we have never been against doing it. Hopefully, we will have some possibilities this spring.
When the Steelers added linebacker Patrick Queen last season, they did create a stir. Queen had a mixed season with the squad, but general manager Omar Khan hasn’t hesitated to spend a lot of money and bring in good players.
Given that Chris Godwin, Tee Higgins, and other elite experienced players are anticipated to enter the free agency market this year, that might occur at wide receiver.
