Pittsburgh –Russell Wilson will not be benched by the Pittsburgh Steelers against the Baltimore Ravens, but Justin Fieldsmore might be useful. Head coach Mike Tomlin said he is open to deploying Fields against the Ravens now that he is fully recovered from an abdominal ailment he sustained against the Philadelphia Eagles.

This season, there has been a lot of discussion regarding Justin Fields’ package, but events have repeatedly delayed the prospect of Fields being more involved with a package on a weekly basis.

Now that Fields is well and the club obviously needs a spark, Tomlin says it could definitely happen.

Of course, I’m willing to use Justin. “We’ve done some of that in the past, and he has an amazing skill set,” Tomlin said. He suffered an injury that hampered some of it, so we haven’t done as much in the past few weeks. However, I am amenable to any combination of divisions of work in order to win this game for myself.

Fields had an abdominal injury that kept him out of two games. Fields had previously been employed by the Steelers as a runner and occasionally a quarterback, with varying degrees of success during their package’s deployment.

Fields may see some opportunity to contribute, either on the ground or in the air, even if it appears he won’t start against the Ravens.
