According to sources who spoke to PennLive, the Pittsburgh Steelers did not submit a waiver claim for K.J. Osborn, a wide receiver who was recently cut by the New England Patriots. The Washington Commanders, who landed Osborn, would have been listed before them on the waiver claim list even if they had filed a claim for him.
The Commanders and the Houston Texans were the only two teams to submit a claim for Osborn. It seems sense that Washington would try to acquire wide receiver Noah Brown after losing him to a serious injury that could keep him out for the remainder of the season.
After being inactive for the second part of the season, the Patriots let Osborn join a contender, which he did in Washington, despite the fact that he only appeared in seven games and recorded seven receptions for 57 yards during those games.
Osborn was one of football’s more underappreciated wide receivers in 2023. For 655 yards and seven scores, he hauled in 50 passes. Osborn, a big-bodied athlete who would outperform the middle of the field, had three consecutive seasons with 500 yards or more in receiving before this one.
