The Pittsburgh Steelers no longer have wide receiver Scotty Miller. Miller was one of seven practice squad members whose contracts ended on January 21.
He’s a free agent now. Late in the season, the Steelers cut Miller and added him back to the practice squad. Despite being promoted for the team’s game against the Baltimore Ravens, he did not participate.
Miller joined the 53-man roster after signing with the organization in May. He has been a member of the team all year, filling in for other players who have been injured. In 13 games, he has only five receptions for 69 yards. Additionally, Miller is Calvin Austin III’s backup punt returner.
Although he is unlikely to be re-signed by the Steelers, his familiarity with Arthur Smith’s plan allowed him join the team with a productive training camp.
