According to Steelers source Gerry Dulac, the Pittsburgh Steelers may soon welcome back linebacker Cole Holcomb. According to Dulac, Holcomb has recovered remarkably and is expected to rejoin the Steelers in the near future.
After missing more than a year due to a knee injury, Holcomb has shown noticeable progress since he began training off to the side during practices, according to Dulac.
On November 2, while playing the Tennessee Titans, Holcomb sustained a multiple ligament knee injury. Although head coach Mike Tomlin had been hesitant to say whether Holcomb would return, it appears like he will.
At the beginning of training camp, Holcomb was placed on the Steelers’ physically unable to perform (PUP) list, and he has stayed there ever since.
A portion of Holcomb’s income was guaranteed by a split guarantee in the revised deal. However, instead of receiving the $6 million basic pay that was previously agreed upon, Holcomb will only receive the guaranteed $3.1 million if he is sidelined for the entire season due to a knee injury.
Holcomb became the Green Dot linebacker for the Steelers after being signed to a three-year contract in free agency last year. They drafted Payton Wilson and signed Patrick Queen following his injury.
