According to one of the draft experts in Dane Brugler’s inaugural January mock draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers would target the wide receiver position. Brugler believes the Steelers will select Ohio State wide receiver Emeka Egbuka in the draft after neglecting to address it over the previous offseason and witnessing the room’s problems arise.
“The Steelers’ early-round wagers on gifted but unruly receivers have yielded mixed outcomes. It’s time to spend money on a pass catcher like Egbuka, who may not have a high potential but already possesses a professional skill set and would be a reliable target for the ensuing ten years, according to Brugler.
They selected Egbuka and Maxwell Hairston, a cornerback for Kentucky, in the second round. Alongside standout freshman wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, Egbuka, a tremendously gifted wide receiver, took over as Ohio State’s go-to player.
The Steelers are hoping that Egbuka will reach them this cycle after he excelled in the NCAA football playoffs and helped his stock rise to that of a mid-first-round choice.
