According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 in Houston, the Pittsburgh Steelers spoke with UCF running back Peny Boone on Wednesday at the Hula Bowl. During his time with the Knights this season, Boone ran 34 times for 208 yards and two scores.

Boone had already visited Toledo and Maryland. One of the highlights of the Hula Bowl thus far is the 6-foot-1, 232-pound rushing back.

His finest collegiate season was in 2023 while attending Toledo. On 194 carries, Boone amassed 1400 running yards and 15 touchdowns. To that total, he added 15 receptions for 219 yards and a touchdown.

His most successful season before to it was his first with the Rockets. On 115 carries, Boone gained 439 yards and scored three touchdowns. Boone has amassed 2305 running yards and 22 touchdowns in his career.

Boone probably spoke with a Steelers scout rather than a senior front office official because it was the Hula Bowl. The Steelers may be looking to add another running back this summer, either early in the draft or later, as Najee Harris is a free agency.
