Former Notre Dame standout Adetokunbo Ogundeji has been cut from the Pittsburgh Steelers’ practice squad. After Calvin Anderson was placed on injured reserve due to a groin issue, the organization made the decision to re-sign offensive tackle John Leglue.
With just two true tackles on the active roster, the team required an extra space, and Ogundeji has been with them since the beginning of the season when they assembled their practice squad. The other players on the practice squad are still Doug Nester and Dylan Cook, and it’s unclear who the team would choose to elevate if they did. Even though Spencer Anderson has become a regular at guard, he is currently the backup tackle at both positions.
Pittsburgh still has Eku Leota on the practice squad for depth at outside linebacker, but all 17 of their spots are taken.
Following early cutdowns, Ogundeji joined the Steelers and has made two appearances on the active roster this season. After a new coaching staff was brought in, the Atlanta Falcons cut him in May after he had three sacks in his three seasons there.
