Pittsburgh –Cornerback Donte Jackson is expected to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers against the Kansas City Chiefs. Jackson stated that he anticipates being out there on Wednesday and that his back feels fine following Monday’s practice.

Due to a pinched nerve in his lower back, Jackson was unable to play in his season debut on Saturday. That injury hurts because if Jackson does something wrong, it might cause agony all across his body. He does, however, anticipate playing after it has cooled down following a week of rest.

Jackson was attempting to escape a block by Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown on the play that aggravated his injury, but he twisted in a way that made the pinched nerve worse.

According to defensive coordinator Teryl Austin, the club would pretend that James Pierre and Cory Trice would start, but if either Jackson or Joey Porter Jr. were available, the hot hand between the two would start.

“Those people performed admirably, in my opinion. We believed going into the game that we would sort of rotate those two men and not overburden either of them, but due to circumstances, they had to play, and I felt that both of them gave us some excellent snaps, despite their imperfections. Therefore, we’ll start this week with the notion that they both need to play. According to Austin, the person with the hot hand will most likely get more reps than the other.

Jackson must be the team’s best cornerback this week, even if he hasn’t been in any games. Because of his pace, he is more likely to compete against Xavier Worthy and Hollywood Brown than against someone like DeAndre Hopkins.
