On Friday night, the Boston Bruins will host the Pittsburgh Penguins at TD Garden.

With 16 of the Bruins’ starts in goal, Jeremy Swayman has amassed a 6-8-2 record and a 3.16 goals-against average.

On Wednesday night, Pittsburgh (8-12-4, in the Metropolitan Division) defeated the visiting Vancouver Canucks 5-4 thanks to two goals and an assist from Bryan Rust.

After missing five games due to a concussion, Blake Lizotte scored, and Pittsburgh also had goals from Rickard Rakell and Kevin Hayes on the power play. The Penguins took a 4-1 lead after one period thanks to three assists from Erik Karlsson and two from Sidney Crosby.

For the Penguins, Tristan Jarry saved 25 shots.

With the win, Mike Sullivan became the NHL’s fastest-born coach to reach 500 regular season and playoff victories. In 948 games, Sullivan—who previously coached in Boston—met the milestone, 20 fewer than Peter Laviolette.

With 23 points, Crosby leads the Penguins, followed by Evgeni Malkion with 21 points.

Joel Blomqvist (3-5-0, 3.60), Jarry (2-3-1, 4.34), and Alex Nedeljkovic (3-4-3, 3.42 GAA) have been splitting the goalkeeper responsibilities.
