Bo Bassett, the nation’s top wrestling prospect, a star at Bishop McCort, and a target for Penn State, is nearing a final decision in his highly publicized recruiting.

On Sunday, Bassett declared that he will make his pledge public this week. The Johnstown native will ring in with a significant update at 11 a.m. on Monday, according to a post on FloWrestling Radio Live.

One of the most sought-after prospects in recent memory, Bassett is the top recruit overall in the 2026 class and a 2021 U17 gold medalist.

Penn State, Oklahoma State, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio State, Rutgers, and Virginia Tech are among Bassett’s seven finalists, who received interest from all of the nation’s top universities.

“I have made up my mind and this week I will be making my commitment live on Flo Wrestling,” Bassett posted on social media following an incredible recruiting process, numerous wonderful discussions, miles, weekends, texts, and prayers. I feel like I couldn’t make a poor decision after I got down to the final seven.
