Winston’s season ended in Week 2 after he sustained a partly torn ACL during a drill. ESPN NFL source Adam Schefter gave some specific details on the injury that kept the 6-2, 208-pound Winston out of action in 2024.
Winston sustained a partially torn ACL in one of his knees, according to Schefter.
According to Schefter, Winston’s knee was operated on by Dallas Cowboys team physician Dan Cooper, and it is anticipated that he will be prepared for on-field exercises by the beginning of March.
With 60 tackles in 2023, Winston led PSU. In addition, he recorded five pass breakups, two fumble recoveries, 2.5 tackles for loss, and an interception.
Before being hurt, Winston gave a preview of his 2024 impact.
Winston lead PSU in tackles (12, including seven solos) and forced a turnover in the Lions’ season-opening 34–12 victory over West Virginia. His efforts earned him the title of Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week.
